Red Witch Famulus Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal

Red Witch Famulus Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal

$299.99

The Red Witch Famulus Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal is a distortion/overdrive pedal with two totally separate, parallel circuits inside. Each circuit has it’s own distinct voicing, so you are able to blend between the two effects for any conceivable combination. Volume controls the overall output of the Red Witch Famulus pedal. The output of both circuits are controlled in parallel by this control. The Tone is more like a presence control than a tone control. Like the volume dial both circuits run through it, offering parallel tone control. Gain A sets the distortion/overdrive level of the first circuit. It’s a really biting, crunchy sound with masses of dynamic scope. Set the effect pedal really low and the guitar sounds almost clean, wind it fully clockwise and you’re suddenly moved to uncontrollable head-banging, power-chording, 8th note-chugging, metal. Gain B sets the distortion/overdrive level of the second circuit. This one is bitey too but it has a fat mid-range punch and spank. Like it’s brother, Gain B can clean up and then get down and dirty when turned clockwise. The Alchemy control on the Red Witch distortion/overdrive pedal is where things get rather interesting. It enables you to blend between to the two separate circuits. Fully counterclockwise gives you only Gain A, fully clockwise gives you only Gain B. Set it anywhere in between and you create your own unique combination. Dial up any variation of the two channels and their respective gain levels for an almost limitless palate with which to create your own unique sound. Bring the overdrive/distortion effect into the signal path by clicking the shiny chrome footswitch, which offers true bypass switching. The Red Witch Famulus distortion/overdrive pedal can be powered from either a 9v battery or an external 9v adapter (Not included). “Alchemy is a bridge between Earth and Heaven, matter and spirit, the solid and the fluid, the visible and the invisible, bringing the horizontal and the vertical together.” – J. Ramsay

 Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro Synthesizer

Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro Synthesizer

$282

The Bass Micro Synthesizer has the same feature set as the Micro Synthesizer, but includes a trigger and filter sweep range especially tailored for bass guitar. The same fat analog synth textures give your bass a whole new range of possibilities: from percussive stabs to backwards-sounding bowed sounds. The XO BASS MICRO SYNTH can create many of the most popular analog lead synthesizer textures at a fraction of the normal cost for such capabilities. Its four voices: GUITAR, OCTAVE, SUB-OCTAVE, and SQUARE WAVE are completely independent and fully mixable. The BASS MICRO SYNTH can modify these signals with envelope control for a variety of "bowed" and "blown" sounds. In addition, a sophisticated swept filter control allows highly variable frequency adjustments to be made to the signal. When combined, these controls offer the user a creative capability that is virtually limitless. PREAMP GAIN ADJUSTMENT The preamp gain in the Bass Micro Synth has been set at the factory for use with a bass equipped with single-coil passive pickups. If you will be using another instrument with higher or lower output, it may be necessary to readjust this setting. A screwdriver or alignment tool with a tip width of no more than 1/16" is required. To access the preamp gain adjustment, remove the bottom plate from the Bass Micro Synth. Look for the small trim pot in the lower left corner of the circuit board, it is labeled TRIM1 GAIN TRIM. Turning the trim pot clockwise will increase the preamp gain. Turning it counter-clockwise will decrease preamp gain. OPERATION The Bass Micro Synth’s controls operate as described below. In all cases, high-numbered control settings increase the level of the given effect. FOOTSWITCH and Status LED ? The Footswitch selects either effect mode or True Bypass. When the Status LED is lit, the Bass Micro Synthesizer is in effect mode. TRIGGER ? Determines the input volume at which the filter circuits will "turn on." It does not affect any other circuitry. If the TRIGGER is set too high, the filter may "stutter" due to multiple triggering. This is especially true if chords are played. It is best to set the TRIGGER at exactly the sensitivity needed for your playing. SUB OCTAVE ? Controls the output volume of the Sub-Octave. The Sub-Octave effect only tracks single notes. OCTAVE ? Controls the output volume of the Octave. The Octave only tracks single notes. This voice contains a small amount of harmonic distortion for added richness of tone. SQUARE WAVE ? Controls the output volume of the Square wave. Intensity of this voice is also determined by instrument attack or volume. In all other respects it operates in a similar fashion to a standard distortion device. ATTACK DELAY ? Determines the time required for the voice signals to reach full volume. Higher-numbered settings can completely remove the initial attack of the instrument. Different delay times contribute greatly to the characteristic sounds of various instruments. It is recommended that you synchronize your playing to the speed setting of the ATTACK DELAY. RESONANCE ? Affects the degree of sharpness, or "Q" of the filter. Higher settings will produce a more emphasized filter sound and also add a slight boost to the signal. STOP FREQUENCY ? Determines the frequency at which the filter sweep ends. This is also the "resting frequency" of the filter, and if the START and STOP controls are set at the same level no sweep will occur, though the filter will provide emphasis of that particular frequency band. SOUND TEMPLATES- The sample settings include with these instructions will help you get familiar with your BASS MICRO SYNTH and its controls. Once you’ve tried all the sample settings, feel free to experiment to develop your own unique palette of sounds. You can record your new settings in the blank templates provided.

 Fulltone GT-500 F.E.T. Distortion + Booster/OD Pedal

Fulltone GT-500 F.E.T. Distortion + Booster/OD Pedal

$169.15

Discrete F.E.T Hi-Gain Distortion and Overdrive Booster IN ONE BOX. You could think of them as 2 separate pedals. or think of them as stages to be linked together for endless combinations. Hi-Gain side has Volume, Distortion knobs, Bass, Mid, and Highs minipots. Booster Side has Volume, Overdrive knobs, Bass and Highs minipots. (these new hi-Q sealed minipots don’t break BTW)Hard clipped distortion (the way most pedals achieve distortion) at one point in a circuit can be cool, but stage after stage of FET (GT-500) is very real, very amplike, has ridiculous amounts of sustain even at low volume, does the great chunky low string rhythm stuff and cleans up incredibly well when you turn down the guitar’s volume. The GT500 contains 9 x FET’s, 2 Mosfets and 1 x Transistor with no opamps or clipping diodes used. What’s special about the EQ? The Hi-Gain side has a discrete Inductor-Driven Midrange circuit….never been done in a pedal before. Yes there’s a wah wah inductor inside the pedal that gives the Midrange control its ability to drastically increase or decrease the entire Low Mid, Mid, and Hi-Mid frequencies, to comical proportions. All this is done without any opamps because all of the active 3 Band EQ’s I’ve tried are horrible, killing all harmonics, all excitement, and sounding as sterile as the "EQ" in a Digital Recording Program. Nope, this has 100% discrete matched FET’s ;) This Mid control mixed with a strong Bass and Treble control help give the GT-500 the ability to dial in more variations than a simple tone control, which can only roll off the Highs. What’s the "Series switch" in the middle do? The Series Select Switch allows you to choose which pedal comes first (allowing you to instantly change the order of the 2 circuits) Booster ——> Distortion or Distortion——-> Booster for example: A Clean Boost slamming into the front end a Distortion sounds way different than a Distortion followed by the clean Boost…and when the EQ’s of the respective sides come into play, it’s a wide open canvas. Regardless of which side of the pedal is designated as "first in line" you can still use each side by itself…completely independent of the other side. Specifications: Maximum Current Draw= 14 milliamps (all knobs cranked) Weight= 1 pound 8 ounces Size= 5 ¾" (left to right) x 3 7/8" deep x 2 ½" height (top of Knobs) Distortion side Input impedance = 150K Output impedance = 15K Booster/OD side Input impedance = 500k Output impedance = 600 ohms
