Q Can acoustic guitar plastic, bone or Ebony Bridge Pins really make a noticeable difference?
if so how, and maybe the chain combos, I use elixirs and eboney
It is a matter of weight. Compare brass and plastic (heavier and lighter) – Copper rises weight the bridge, you get a little longer, but it takes more energy (strength of the chain) to get the current sound. The plastic is just the opposite – not much to add the weight of the bridge and a strum of the strings of light are moving up. There will be almost no difference in the sound of you mention. The other issue is the sustainability – The bone is more difficult if it will last longer – Ebony wear out faster.
